If you weren’t able to attend the 30th National CASA Conference in Chicago, attendees have been providing snapshots of their experiences through Twitter. By using the hashtag #CASAconf11, Twitter users have created a streaming conversation, connected with other attendees, and shared their personal highlights. We are happy to share some tweets from the first two days of the conference.
On Saturday and Sunday, attendees were eager to use Twitter to talk about their favorite presenters and share words of widsom.
During the opening luncheon on Sunday, country singer Jimmy Wayne delivered a powerful performance, telling his story and performing two songs. We were delighted to share during the conference that Wayne, a foster care alum, has been named as the newest spokesperson for National CASA. He also used Twitter to share his excitement about his new role as a spokesperson for National CASA.
@JimmyWayne – I am very honored. My vow is to help as many abused & neglected children as possible in my lifetime. Nothing’s more important.
He also gave his fans and CASA supporters a backstage view moments before he came out onstage.
Later that day, Michael Piraino sent out a photo of himself and Jimmy Wayne over his Twitter feed.
